Challenge
Athenian was engaged by Direct Energy to direct the strategic change roadmap for a large portfolio of technology implementations and business transformations as part of a complex $160M global business transformation impacting 35,000 users. The team partnered with the client to guide stakeholders through prioritized program assessment recommendations, strategy change roadmap development for their systems, business process, and organizational objectives.

Athenian leveraged our extensive experience in organization change and project management to lead teams through initial business process impact assessments, created fully integrated change dashboards, and supported the rollout of a fully integrated solution to over 300 sites and 35,000 plus users including field, back office, and executive level resources.
Outcome
The ultimate delivery of the change framework resulted in the creation of over $1M in steady state savings through identification and communication of optimization of processes and alignment of tools with strategic goals.
The organization has since been acquired by NRG, but still leverages the change management office created during this engagement to oversee all programs within the retail energy component of the conglomerate.
