Houston, Texas – (April 2, 2025) – Athenian Group is proud to support Dresser Utility Solutions in their successful acquisition of Kobus Pipe Puller, a global leader in gas and water pipe pulling technology. The transaction represents a strategic move that advances utility infrastructure modernization and unlocks additional value for Dresser’s clients across the U.S. and globally.

Dresser Utility Solutions, a portfolio company of First Reserve, is a premier provider of critical infrastructure technology to water and gas utility and industrial customers. The acquisition of Kobus, a portfolio company of Agile Growth Equity, expands Dresser’s suite of innovative solutions for gas and water utilities as they respond to the urgent challenges of aging infrastructure, most notably, the federally mandated replacement of over 9 million lead service lines across the country.

Kobus will continue operations from its current locations in Houston, Texas, and Tamworth, United Kingdom. It will deliver advanced trenchless technology that enables faster, safer, and more cost-effective pipe replacement. Their flagship Pipe Puller system will be a key addition to Dresser’s offerings, further positioning the company as a comprehensive supplier of essential utility technology.
